Pentagon Motor Group have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced Rental Manager to join our Stoke based Volkswagen Van Centre.
This role will see you ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Rent-A-Car department. Taking responsibility for the growth and profitability of the department through the development of sales to both retail and local corporate customers, whilst ensuring you deliver excellent customer service.

What will you be doing?
Main responsibilities for the role include:
- Dealing with the general public and corporate clients on the phone and in person.
- Processing payments and ID checks correctly, including pre-authorisation/card details/ credit checks etc.
- Monitoring daily desktop reports, vehicle availability, utilisation, vehicles overdue, expiring insurance policies of corporate customers, expiring credit card authorisations, excess mileage etc.
- Identifying new potential sales areas and increasing the number of local corporate accounts within the designated area.
- Production of business plans and strategies and any other planning associated with the development of the Rental Department including actioning local marketing/advertising strategies.
- Accurate record keeping especially insurance records alongside vehicle status management/weekly audit of vehicles and fuel account management.
- Timely reporting of damage/accident notifications to VWFS and action repairs in conjunction with relevant insurer.
- Staff supervision, recruitment and staff rota management.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all the terms, conditions and standards of the VWFS Rent-A-Car programme.
- Resolving problems and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Liaising with VWFS Partner Rental Manager
The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a rental role.
- Experience of working to service levels and quality measures.
- Must hold a full clean UK driving licence
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal departments and stakeholders
- Ability to acquire and put into practice new knowledge and skills, developed through on the job training.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast moving environment.
- A strong customer service ethic with great people skills.
- The skills to manage a team and mentor staff to achieve results.
- Must be able to prioritise and manage your work load independently whilst maintaining a sales focused attitude.
Previous experience working with rental operations systems and a BVRLA City & Guilds Rental Operator Skills Certificate would be advantageous for this role.
